Description:
This dilapidated barn has definitely seen better days. But in its fading years it is providing us with a great center of focus for this landscape. The barn may be dying, but the cycles of planting, growing and harvesting continue. Note the round bails of hay in the yellow fields.
Why is it that long forgotten buildings are so interesting? Well, what they invoke in my mind is the bright hope the barn represented as it sheltered farm animals and equipment. It was also a place for play for the children in the household and a haven for many wild animals. But they are gone. Only mice and owls inhabit its drafty enclosure.
